If I reach the top, Josh Berk has to re-grow his high school prom-fro.

Just a couple more votes, people!!!

Thanks for the votes here: http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1906.Debut_novels_of_2010_A_Book_Odyssey#myVotes

From 24th to 4th in one day ain’t bad. Ain’t bad at all.

I’m even ahead of *koff* Non-Tenner carrie_ryan. For a reason no one can explain her second sure-to-be-awesome novel DEAD-TOSSED WAVES is on the list. Anyone? Anyone?

Less you should think that I’m the only one playing dirty, little miss Suzanne Young offered TREATS to Twitterbugs who voted for her.

Lollipops.

That’s pulling out the big guns.

Anyways, thanks. Good fun. It helped with my massive BEA envy yesterday for sure.
Sort of like an impromptu cafeteria food fight. It’s just always win-win.

So. Today it’s 3 straight hours revising SEA’s second half.
Due Monday.
My lovely* editor said the first half looks good!
And that’s good news.
As my launch is next week!

So now you are updating.

If anyone has NOT yet voted for SEA on GoodReads and would like to, you simply go here:

http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1906.Debut_novels_of_2010_A_Book_Odyssey#myVotes

I promise I will give you an orange popsicle at one of my signings.

(Eat that, Suz! I should have suspected with a book called The Naughty List, she would play dirty. =;

You up for a challenge?

Even though my friend jberkj insists it isn’t a competition that a bunch of us Tenners are listed here:

http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1906.Debut_novels_of_2010_A_Book_Odyssey#myVotes

ranked by “VOTES” I beg to differ.

He added me just now.

I’m currently in last place. Which is a very sad place to be, indeed.

I need your votes.

I need to bump Berk from his spot by the end of the day.

All you need to do is click VOTE next to my cover.

Oh, and if you see Berk around the hood? Tell him I’m coming. And hell’s coming with me!*

*that is an outdated Wyatt Earp quote from the movie Tombstone.

Thanks!

I’m your huckleberry…

SEA is officially up on GoodReads (!)

*Disclaimer: I didn’t put myself there. Or my synopsis.

Weird huh?

So anyway, I took the reins and added my book cover, and a profile, so if you want to add us to your ‘to be read’ or whatever it’s there!

I think I’ve asked before. I swear this is the last time.

Any websites you particularly like the design/set up?

Thanks!!

Tiny Freak Out

http://www.thestorysiren.com/2009/05/books-to-pine-for-17.html

Like staring at a newborn baby, every time I see my cover I gasp.

My name. On a real live book. I’m just not used to it yet.

And this is the first time I saw it on one of those lists. Well, the cover anyway. And it’s so very nice.

Feeling pressure.

Pressure to make it better. To make it Pineable.

I’ve just spent three nights with four dependents: my son, my baby girl, my stricken with two-day migraine mother-in-law, and my brain-damaged father-in-law.

My husband’s been in NY. Speaking at the UN on behalf of people who don’t have a voice.

Every spare non-child doting, non popping-in-a-frozen-Amy’s pizza for the in-laws second I’ve been working on edits.

So to see this before bed was really really lovely. If I hadn’t randomly clicked on someone else’s link, I wouldn’t have even known, so thanks, Universe. And thanks, Story Siren for featuring Sea.

If SEA is ever a Movie, this will play during final credits…

Even if I have to sell my soul to make it happen. =;
Enjoy.

For play by play accounts of the haunted/zombified/faerie assassin writers retreat, follow us up there.

Non-twitter bugs? Seriously, it’s only a matter of time before they suck you in. So might as well go voluntarily into the dark abyss with the rest of us.

Thankful Thursday

1. Thankful for afternoon spur-of-the-moment coffee with literaticat. We were talking about how, when we first met, I didn’t have an agent yet and she hadn’t decided to become one. Now she is an agent and I have a book coming out and I love things like that.

2. Thankful for my in-laws. They stealthily walk in while I’m on a phone meeting with my editor. That’s when the baby starts crying. I make big wide eyes and point, “Pllease. Baby?!?” And Oma to the rescue! (There’s a reason why a character in my book is named after her. Because she is Ninja Grandma. That’s why.)

3. Thankful for my editor. She is working so hard to make this book the best it can be. Sure I complain, “More edits????? GROAN. “Aren’t we done yet???” No. It will be done when it is perfect, says she. I am lucky.

4. Thankful for my agent. She is leaving for maternity leave soon and is taking care of all the business before she going to have her sweet little wee one. (Like passing on JADE to my editor!) She’s going to be an awesome mom.

5. Thankful for my husband. He’s in New York. He’s speaking at the UN on behalf of Khmer monks who are being abused in Vietnam. If you see a white guy in a tie traveling with a group of burnt-orange robed monks, that’s him. Tell him I think he’s awesome.
